We are so excited to announce that Olympic Silver Medalist Monica Abbott will be the keynote speaker for the YALE (Young Ag Leader Event) program at the 2010 National Institute held December 9th – 11th at the Hilton Resort & Spa in Monterey, CA.

Monica grew up in Salinas, CA where she was a star softball pitcher at North Salinas High School.  After high school, she joined the Lady Vols at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she set career and single season NCAA records her senior season with 189 victories, 2,440 strikeouts, 112 shutouts, 253 appearances and 1,448.9 innings pitched.

In 2008, Monica tossed the first ever perfect game for a U.S. pitcher in Olympic play on August 18th with an 8-0 victory over the Netherlands.  She went on to become a Silver Medalists at the 2008 Olumpic Games in Beijing, China.

The list of her accomplishments goes on and on, but as you see, Monica will be a great inspiration for YALE attendees & future ag leaders.
